May 2007: Cambridge Experiences Manufacturing Momentum

In contrast to stagnant manufacturing growth in many parts of Minnesota, Cambridge is exhibiting healthy manufacturing growth across several industry lines. The growth comes from three sources:

• The recruitment of an Italian parts manufacturer, utilizing 25,000 sq. ft. of available industrial space;

• The expansion of several local businesses creating more than 75,000 sq. ft. of new industrial space; and

• An orchestrated buy-out of an existing business retaining nearly 109,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing space that had been destined for closure.
