Centralized City Services
Fire, police and administrative
offices were consolidated in 2003. They now occupy the new
Cambridge City Center in the heart of the city.
Responsive City Government
The city is governed by an elected mayor and four-member
city council. Its annual general fund budget is just over
$3.5 million.
The city has maintained an A- bond rating with Standard &
Poors since 2002 -- the first year it was rated. Its Comprehensive
Land Use Plan was adopted in 2001. Commercial, industrial
and
residential
plans
are
reviewed
and approved by the city building official.
One-Stop County Government
As the Isanti County seat, Cambridge is home to a
modern government center, county fairgrounds, and a regional
library. Residents enjoy one-stop access to health, legal
and social services.
Top-Rated Public Safety
Cambridge's 13-member police force is recognized
for its commitment to traffic safety and community policing.
It works
cooperatively
with the 47-member Isanti County Sheriff's Department. The
community's ISO rating is 6.
